Fuel Cleaning
Have you ever experienced the sinking sound of your diesel sputtering, and then
the ominous sound of silence? If you have a diesel power plant the odds are that
you have, or will in the future.
Diesel engines are generally rugged and reliable. One thing they are not capable
of however is running on water, algae and dirt.
Over time, most diesel fuel tanks will develop what we inelegantly call "crud
problems". There are 12 species of algae which feed on diesel, and are quite
happy living and breeding in your tank. Even with pristine fuel, water condenses
on the cold inner surfaces of your tank, and eventually forms a layer on the bottom
of your tank. Marinas are not laboratories, so dirt, crud and other foreign materials
will eventually make their way into your tank
You may not notice for quite a while,
but one day you will hit a patch of rough weather and the contents of your tank
will mix nicely. This brew of fuel and contaminants
is capable of overwhelming the best filtering system. Now you have a big problem.
Ocean
Link has developed a system for solving this situation before it becomes a problem.
Or fixing it if it has.
Our fully mobile machine can best be described as an industrial
diesel vacuum cleaner. The machine sucks the fuel, debris, water, sludge and
bacteria out of
the tank and into the machine. The heavy contaminants and water drop to the bottom
and the fine crud is filtered out through a 5 micron filter. The 'polished' fuel
then returns to the tank.
