Gas & Diesel Tanks
The fuel tanks you find on this page are the highest quality plastic fuel tanks
available. Unlike metal tanks our fuel tanks will not corrode and they are 30%
lighter than a metal tank of the same size. Cross-linked polyethylene is completely
resistant to gasoline and diesel fuel.
Most late model automobile manufacturers use plastic fuel tanks because of the
corrosion and weight benefits. Each tank is individually tested and certified
to US Coast Guard Standards. (CFR 183.580 sub part J) The tanks include fill fittings,
vent fittings, level sender, pick-up fittings, return fittings (where applicable)
and installation instructions. The location of the fittings cannot be changed;
they are part of the mold. All plastic fuel tanks expand about two percent in
size
after the initial fill with fuel.
You must take the expansion into account when choosing and installing the tank,
check out the installation instructions for more information. Proper installation
and use will provide you with many years of trouble feel use.
