Sanitation System Presentation for Marine Surveyors
 SAMS logo

Ocean Link recently offered a presentation on sanitation systems during the Northeast Regional Meeting for members of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS). (see photo above)

Brian and Terri informed participants on RI’s zero discharge laws and sticker program, about the various types of MSD’s and various types of toilets currently on the market and what to look for during marine survey inspection of a sanitation system.

Terri commented that, “Ocean Link is always glad for the opportunity to share what we know with other professionals in the marine industry. We appreciated the high level discussion and questions that came from the surveyors in attendance”.

The event organizer said, “We look to experts in the marine industry to bring us up to speed on what they are doing and what WE (as marine surveyors) should be looking at to assist us in providing a well-informed marine survey report. Terri’s company is established as experts in MSD systems, and we appreciate the knowledge she conveyed to our members.”

A couple of the other industry experts making presentations included Dan O’Conner of Life Raft and Survival and Eric Goetz of Goetz Composites,

Afterwards one of the event organizers sent us this comment:

“Your time and effort to provide us with information we were gray on (pun intended) was greatly appreciated.”

 Tanks as Teaching Tools

IYRS Student with Simulator

This photo shows student Carl Vincent with the boat systems simulator that the International Yacht Restoration School  (IYRS) uses as a teaching aid.

IYRS purchased ten 4-gallon tanks from us for this purpose. These were customized to clearly demonstrate working potable water and sanitation systems.

Students learn the theory of proper tank installation and the regulations involved. They also get hands-on experience installing various types of fittings to the tanks.

“We were pleased to deal with Ocean Link on this project. We prefer to “Buy Local” and they always recommend the best system solutions,” commented IYRS Instructor Lew Davies.
